However, a third-generation idol supposedly exposed his group mate’s marriage and child. UNIQ was originally a collaborative effort between YG Entertainment and Yuehua. The group saw great popularity despite only releasing one album, including recording the OSTs for the Chinese releases of TMNT and Penguins of Madagascar.
UNIQ never officially disbanded, but each member has been pursuing individual projects since 2018 — Wang Yibo has seen a great deal of popularity following the release of The Untamed; Cho Seungyoun debuted as the solo artist WOODZ; Yixuan debuted in the group New Storm; Wenhan debuted in the group UNINE, and Sungjoo has been pursuing different acting projects.
In 2023, the group “reunited” to help Yixuan propose to his now-fiancé, Chen Meng Yao.

Sungjoo was doing a live stream on social media. During the stream, he played a message sent to him by Wenhan, where the idol playfully sang Happy Birthday in Korean. It was the second part of the message where the leak happened, when Wenhan suddenly said, “Your son isn’t sleeping yet? Come let Uncle hug you.” Sungjoo then hurries to try to turn off the message off before anything else is said.
Sunjoo was rumored to have been married since 2018, but this alleged accidental confirmation has left many of his fans in shock. Some backtracked and found “proof” on his TikTok account in the form of children’s toys in one of his videos.
Sungjoo later embraced the attention his son was getting, even making YouTube videos showcasing his activities.
Idols are allowed to live freely and do what they want, many are just surprised that he managed to keep a secret this big for so long.
