Top Tier Girl Group Member Reveals That She Cried Because Of Suzy

Girl’s Day member and actress Yura revealed a story about being shocked by the visuals of Suzy and T-ARA’s Jiyeon in her early debut days.

On a recent video uploaded to Yura’s YouTube channel. In the video, Yura and Sojin met with a princess concept and had a heart-to-heart. From their first meeting topic, the two talked about memories from their Girl’s Day activities.

When Sojin asked about her first impression, Yura explained that she saw Sojin as a total unnie.

“I don’t really remember the very first time I saw you, but unnie was 23 in Korean age. I was a high school senior, so you felt like such a distant older sister to me. Thinking about it now, unnie was actually so young back then. But even so, I felt like I shouldn’t cause trouble and I was scared. Also, since I was a new member, I worried maybe they wouldn’t like me, so I was really careful about reading the room.”

Yura also revealed experiences of being shocked by other girl group members’ visuals in her debut days. The experience affected her so much that she ended up crying alone backstage.

“When I first came up from Ulsan, I thought I was the prettiest. But then I realized I was in trouble. There was a program called Bouquet where all the pretty idols gathered together. We filmed wearing wedding dresses, and at first I saw Suzy and was shocked. Then I saw Jiyeon and was shocked too. It wasn’t just one or two people that shocked me. I got intimidated and went into a booth alone and cried. I thought, ‘I’m not actually pretty,’ and ‘As expected, Seoul city really is different.’”

Fans found Yura’s honesty both hilarious and relatable, especially given that she herself later became known as one of K-pop’s legendary visuals.
