Actor Under Fire For Kissing Actress’s Teenage Daughter

A heartwarming family moment has come under scrutiny, reportedly sparking discussions about boundaries.

Recently, actress Christy Chung posted a vlog that captured her 18-year-old daughter’s graduation ceremony at Beijing Shunyi International School. Throughout the video, Christy became tearful several times, cheering proudly for Jaden as Jaden walked into the ceremony in her graduation gown. However, online attention soon shifted to a specific moment.

At one point, actor Shawn Zhang, Christy Chung’s husband and Jaden’s stepfather, kissed Jaden on the cheek and forehead while posing for pictures. Some social media users reportedly argued that, because Jaden is now an adult and Shawn is not her biological father, the gesture appeared overly affectionate and crossed personal boundaries.

However, others reportedly noted that Zhang has helped raise Jaden since marrying Christy a decade ago, when Jaden was a young child. They argued that every family expresses affection differently, and outsiders may not fully understand their bond. Christy has also previously spoken about how close her daughters are to Shawn, even saying they view him as a “superhero” because of his dedication to the family.
