GOT7 Youngjae’s Side Accuses Musical “Dream High 2” Of Lying In Their Official Statement

GOT7‘s Youngjae expressed anger at the musical Dream High 2 production company’s lies.

Previously, on June 9, Youngjae put the production company of musical Dream High 2 and its CEO over unpaid appearance fees, an issue that has dragged on for almost a year.

Following Youngjae’s critical post, Dream High 2 issued an apology. Artone Company CEO Kim Eun Ha said, “Unexpected financial difficulties occurred during the production process, causing delayed payments of fees, which is a regrettable situation. We have now harmoniously agreed with GOT7’s Youngjae’s side to complete the settlement of the remaining unpaid fees by the end of June.”

She added, “We promise to prioritize our commitment to the actor and complete the settlement procedure within the promised deadline.”

Although the production company promised repayment by June, seemingly resolving the unpaid fee controversy, Youngjae’s side has now refuted this, stating they had never agreed on that repayment date.

Youngjae’s agency said, “Recently, the other party claimed, ‘We have harmoniously agreed with GOT7 Youngjae’s side to complete the settlement procedure for the remaining unpaid fees by June.’ However, our side has never agreed or confirmed the repayment timing to be by the end of June.”

The agency further explained, “Although the other party verbally mentioned they would prepare and submit a repayment plan, they already submitted one at the end of last year, and the schedule proposed then was not honored. Therefore, we believe a mere submission of an additional repayment plan does not sufficiently confirm a genuine intention or ability to repay.” Given multiple missed repayment deadlines, smooth negotiations appear difficult.

Through their statement, Youngjae’s side accused the musical Dream High 2 of lying, saying, “We prioritize protecting our artist’s rights and are carefully reviewing the situation and the actual fulfillment of commitments so far. Furthermore, we are continuing with the necessary legal procedures regarding this matter.”

Despite the production company’s delayed attempt at damage control, Youngjae’s side reiterated their grievances and denied any agreement on negotiation, raising questions about whether the production company will issue further statements.
