“Disturbing to admit publicly…”
Somi has come under extreme criticism for her “toxic” comments about dieting in a new video with young rookie idols.

Somi recently did a video with MEOVV‘s Gawon and Ella.
During the video, someone asked for recommendations for snacks if they are dieting.

When speaking about it, Somi explained her own method, which sparked shock.

She revealed that she writes “fat” on sticky notes and puts them everywhere.

Somi added that wherever she goes, even if its opening the fridge, she sees the word “fat.”

The idol added that she wasn’t forced…

But added that it acted as a warning sign so she could “control” herself.

The screenshots were shared on X and sparked major fury, with accusations of toxic behavior and fatphobia with sharing the technique.
cw: extremely toxic behavior surrounding dieting + fatphobia
purposefully evoking a sleepover vibe to tell girls submitting questions that putting “fat” notes all over your house to shame yourself is a technique good enough for their idol pic.twitter.com/yagZfrvh5K

It sparked anger because it seemed unhealthy to share, especially with young idols, and many hit back at Somi for publicly sharing a very toxic method of dieting, when there will be young fans watching who could be influenced.
somi’s always been slow that’s one thing about her

i say this at the risk of sounding like an ahole, she could have kept this to herself instead of airing it out to a pot. young & influential audience. if u wanna put ur health at risk to be skinny fine, not cool but ur thing bc u are grown. but that’s disturbing to admit publicly

at her fucking big age, i dont want no one preaching about cultural differences okay! no matter how demented you are, you dont say this to kids much less on a broadcast. just pathetic

somi thinking this is okay to tell an audience is bad in general, but specifically sharing this with a 17 year old in the idol industry is absolutely insane
