A Japanese woman in her 50s, indicted for kissing BTS member Jin without his consent during a free hug event, has filed an objection ahead of her first trial hearing.

The woman submitted a notice of objection and reservation of rights to the Seoul Eastern District Court through her legal representative. The move is seen as the defendant signaling her intention to contest the trial’s procedures and preserve her right to a full defense. Two hearings are currently scheduled for July.

The woman faces charges of indecent assault after allegedly hugging Jin and kissing him on the cheek at his post-military discharge free hug event at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium last year. Jin reportedly turned away from the sudden contact.
