Reality Dating Show Star Gets Candid About Quitting Previous Job To Become An Influencer

A reality dating show star candidly shared stories on her time as a Korean Air flight attendant and the reasons behind her resignation.

On July 7th, a video was released on Kim Ji Young’s YouTube channel. In the video, Kim Ji Young, who gained recognition through Heart Signal 4, engaged in a Q&A session with her subscribers, answering various questions.

Kim Ji Young expressed satisfaction with being an influencer. She said, “Work plays a huge role in my self-realization,” adding, “Filming vlogs, shooting ads, and going to events give me a sense of purpose. These things also made my pregnancy period much more enjoyable.” She continued, “Another aspect is responsibility. If I were sick, I would rest, but fortunately, I’ve been healthy and able to keep working.”

She also reflected on her time as a Korean Air flight attendant. Kim remarked, “With the advent of the AI era, I believe all jobs are facing crises due to societal changes. I realized this a bit earlier during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

She recalled, “After COVID-19 broke out in 2020, I only went to work about one or two months a year. Although my total tenure was seven years, I practically spent nearly two years resting at home.”

After much consideration, Kim Ji Young decided to leave her stable job. She confessed, “I was afraid of quitting the company. But I was more afraid of who I’d become if I kept working there. Flying was physically exhausting, leaving me no energy for anything else. The scariest part was feeling like my personal growth had stagnated.”

She also shared that her health has improved since quitting. “After leaving the flight attendant job, my insomnia was resolved,” she said. “My daily routine stabilized a lot, and my body became much healthier.”

When asked about her height and weight during the flight attendant interview, she answered honestly, “I was 165 cm tall and weighed about 50 to 51 kg.”

In response to whether she ever regretted leaving being a flight attendant to become an influencer, she said, “I spent my entire 20s working in a place that demanded high physical and mental strength.”

She added, “That’s why I’m even more thankful for my current life as an influencer. I think I’m very blessed. It’s a huge blessing given to someone ordinary and unremarkable like me,” expressing, “I find my current work enjoyable and feel a strong sense of responsibility.”

Finally, she said, “A big advantage is that I can combine being a YouTuber with other jobs,” and shared her aspiration, “I want to continue living my life as a creator steadily going forward.”
