Beloved Boy Group Collapses — 5 Members Depart Abruptly, Leaving Only 1 Behind

Fans were left shocked after a beloved boy group underwent a major lineup change, with five stars officially departing and only one member remaining.

BAE173 was formed and managed by PocketDol Studio. The group debuted on November 19, 2020, with their first mini-album, Intersection: Spark, and has since released five more mini-albums.

BAE173 originally debuted as a nine-member group before undergoing multiple lineup changes. Dohyon left the group in June 2023 after his contract with the agency was terminated, while Hangyul’s contract with PocketDol Studio ended on February 28 this year.

In April, the court granted Doha an injunction to suspend the effects of his exclusive contract with the agency.

Before the latest announcement, BAE173 consisted of seven members: J-Min, Yoojun, Muzin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit.

On July 14, PocketDol Studio announced that five members — Yoojun, Muzin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit — had ended their exclusive contracts with the company. The agency explained that after discussions with the members, they decided to respect their wishes to pursue new challenges and continue their activities separately.

“The exclusive contracts of BAE173 members Yoojun, Mujin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit with the company expired on June 30, 2026.

After thorough discussions, we have decided to respect the members’ wishes to take on new challenges and continue their individual activities following the expiration of their exclusive contracts.

We sincerely thank all the fans who have shown endless love and support for BAE173 members Yoojun, Mujin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit during this time.”

Meanwhile, J-Min (Jeon Minwook) has been on hiatus from BAE173 activities since February 2025 and is currently promoting as a member of CLOSE YOUR EYES, the debut group formed through PROJECT 7. He is now the only BAE173 member still signed under PocketDol Studio.

The news has sparked emotional reactions from fans, who expressed disbelief at the group’s lineup changing so drastically in just a few years.
