IU has revealed that her ongoing health issues have worsened, forcing her to make major changes to her upcoming schedule.

On July 20, the singer and actress announced through fan platform Berryz that she would be canceling her scheduled September concert in Goyang and postponing the release of her new album due to worsening symptoms of patulous Eustachian tube syndrome.

IU explained that she has been dealing with the condition for years, but recently noticed a significant decline in her health.

My chronic patulous Eustachian tube syndrome symptoms have been getting worse. I wonder if I pushed myself too hard over the past few years because I was too focused on work and didn’t properly consider my condition.

Recently, the symptoms have continued day and night for several days at a time, and I’ve repeatedly found it difficult to get back to my usual condition when singing.

Because of her condition, medical professionals advised IU that continuing with concerts and performances would be difficult for the time being.

Since concerts require a lot of movement and cause me to sweat heavily, experts have advised that it would be difficult to proceed with them for now.
