SM Entertainment Idols Admit They Don’t Get Along With Each Other

Two SM Entertainment idols from the same group have admitted that they don’t actually get along with each other.

On July 21st, the YouTube channel TEO released a new video featuring Super Junior’s unit 83z members Leeteuk and Heechulas guests, showcasing their cheerful banter alongside MC Jang Do Yeon.

Jang Do Yeon asked, “Do you two ever meet privately outside of work?” Heechul replied, “Almost never,” explaining, “Our tastes are very different. Teuk likes golf but can’t drink at all, whereas I like drinking but can’t play golf.”

When asked about other members’ reactions to the unit activities, Leeteuk said, “Donghae was the first to mention it. Super Junior has been active for a very long time. No one thought Heechul and I would ever form a unit, so it felt fresh to everyone.” Heechul added, “We were like oil and water. Fans knew we didn’t really get along, but they were curious about this collaboration.”

Surprisingly, the two were roommates when living in the dorm. Leeteuk said, “We shared the master room. I was on the left side, Heechul on the right. I liked white, and he liked red,” showing their completely opposite tastes.

When Jang Do Yeon said, “If you’re total opposites, maybe you wouldn’t fight much,” to which both Heechul and Leeteuk said, “We fought a lot.”

Leeteuk shared, “There was that in the past. Because we were so different, when we were young and hot-headed, we wondered, ‘Why don’t you get along with me? Why are you so different?’ But now that we’re over 40, we’ve come to accept each other’s differences.”

Heechul and Leeteuk debuted as members of the group Super Junior in 2005. The same-age pair born in 1983 recently released the first mini-album of Super Junior unit 83z titled Promise on the 13th and are actively promoting it now.
