“Fujoshi Queen” — Viral K-Pop Star Draws Gay Fan Art Along With Her Idol Career

As more idols known for their times on survival shows surface and reunite, netizens have sometimes wondered what others who appeared on shows are up to. I.O.I recently reunited, while WANNA ONE is still conducting some reunion activities.

Project Idol Group Announces Reunion At KCON For The First Time In 9 Years

Recently, a K-Pop trainee who was viral during her survival show appearance has become a talking point again.

In 2021, the survival show Girls Planet 999 began to air, showing the journey of 99 trainees and the creation of the girl group Kep1er.

The show’s trainees were divided into different groups, K-Group, C-Group and the J-Group, based on their nationalities. One contestant that was part of C-Group was Gu Yizhou, a Chinese trainee who captured attention with her interview, where she acted out a scene from a popular musical. .

During the scene, she also showed some of her artwork inspired by her favorite animated programs.

According to some that have kept up with her, she has continued drawing, and has since made her debut!

After being eliminated from Girls Planet 999, she appeared on Great Dance Crew, where she was eliminated before the final episode. In 2024, however, Yizhou made her debut as a member of Carol, an underground under the stage name Yowa.

Additionally, reason discussions about her have claimed that she is active on Chinese social media, and has continued to share what some have described as “Yaoi” or gay artwork for various fandoms including Link Click, a Chinese donghua series. She showed some of her artwork for this series on Girls Planet 999 as well.

Many have expressed excitement over their rediscovery, or discovery of her.
