K-Pop Girl Group Addresses The Viral Binge Eating Incident

A K-Pop girl group has addressed the rumor about binge eating at a wedding buffet.

On July 28th, the YouTube channel TEO uploaded a video for its Salon Drip series. In the video, RESCENE‘s Woni and Minami appeared as guests and chatted with Jang Do Yeon on various topics.

When asked about a memorable event, Woni recalled a wedding story. She said, “There was a post saying we were eating at the buffet.”

Previously, a netizen had posted, “I saw them at an acquaintance’s wedding two or three months ago. At the time, I wondered ‘Who are they?’ but I didn’t expect them to become this well-known. They were enthusiastically eating at the buffet and I found them really likable,” sharing their experience spotting RESCENE.

About the situation, Woni explained, “We were scheduled to attend a wedding. Actually, it was my cousin’s wedding. Since the guests probably didn’t know it was my cousin’s wedding, they must have found it surprising that these idol-like people ate three plates each,” she laughed.

She continued, “Among ourselves, since it was my cousin’s wedding, we decided to fast the day before. So we ate a lot that day, and that’s what you saw,” she said, adding, “This is the first time I’m talking about this. I wanted to clarify that it was my cousin’s wedding and we ate a lot because we hadn’t eaten the day before.”

When asked if RESCENE’s song was performed as the congratulatory song, she replied, “We weren’t sure if our schedule would allow it, so we went suddenly and didn’t perform the song. We just said, ‘Congratulations!’ and left.”

Hearing this, Jang Do Yeon quipped, “So you really just came to eat. What are you even doing?” prompting laughter.
