Fans are divided over a new AI-powered fan communication service connected to Lee Soo Man‘s company.

BloomingTalk, a fan communication platform featuring artists including girl group A2O MAY, has recently drawn attention for its use of artificial intelligence. The platform has sparked criticism over how it uses AI to recreate interactions between fans and their favorite artists.

BloomingTalk is operated as a new type of fan communication service that combines real artist messages with AI-generated conversations.
The platform offers two main features: “Human Talk,” where artists send actual messages, and “AI Talk,” where an AI trained on an artist’s conversation style and voice responds to fans.
Through AI Talk, fans can chat with an AI modeled after a specific artist at any time. The service also allows fans to make voice calls with an AI that recreates the artist’s voice.

The service is connected to A2O Entertainment, the company led by producer Lee Soo Man, with A2O MAY among the artists participating on the platform.
However, the AI feature has become the main point of discussion among fans.

The service requires payment, with an AI Talk pass for each A2O MAY member costing 6,800 KRW (around $5 USD). Once fans use all available messages, they must purchase additional credits, with prices ranging from 1,900 KRW (around $1.40 USD) for 20 messages to 19,900 KRW (around $14 USD) for 600 messages.

A newly added “Secret Chat” feature has also drawn attention. According to BloomingTalk, even the actual artist whose voice was used for the AI cannot view these conversations.
The platform describes the feature as “a special chat shared only between you and your AI artist.”

BloomingTalk has promoted the service using phrases such as “real connection,” “24-hour real-time conversations,” and “one-of-a-kind memories.” However, some fans have questioned whether conversations with AI can truly be considered a genuine connection with an artist.
While BloomingTalk still includes real messages from artists through Human Talk, many have raised concerns about marketing AI conversations as a form of authentic fan interaction.
crazy to think we’ve yet to see the worst cases of stan psychosis and it’s going to be because of this. if people can become socially attached and dependent on the faceless chatgpt, the same thing with their idol’s face and optimized for fanservice is going to deep fry brains
