“LGBT Is The Devil” — Male K-Pop Idol’s Re-Debut Met With Demands For His Removal

Fans of an upcoming boy group have already begun demanding that a member be removed.

On August 7, a new account for a boy group seemingly named TRY THAT appeared on X with a single teaser image.

Though the teaser image was blurred, some immediately recognized some of the members, including Koo Hanseo, known for his participation in the survival shows Under Nineteen and Universe League. 

Also recognized was a former member of the boy group WE US, Hyukjin, who was involved in a controversy last year.

Hyukjin was one of several idols who showed support for Charlie Kirk, a controversial, right-wing political figure who was shot and killed. After he was criticized, several messages between Hyukjin and a netizen were shared, showing the idol seemingly agreeing with Kirk’s transphobic, homophobic, and racist views.

On the posts of the teasers, of which there are now five, many have called for the idol to be removed from the group.
