Idol-Turned-Actress Confesses She Has No Life Plans

An idol-turned-actress recalled the image of adulthood she had imagined, revealing that she doesn’t really have any life plans at the moment.

On August 14th, a video titled “This isn’t the adult image I had in mind..?” was uploaded to YouTube.

In the video, Girls’ Day member-turned-actress Hyeri’s close friend Park Kyung Hye visited her home. The two shared a meal of pork ribs and seasoned crab while discussing various topics.

At one point, Hyeri asked, “We think that in our 20s we’re supposed to do certain things, and in our 30s other things, right? Have your older friends gotten married?”

When Park Kyung Hye replied, “Most of them have,” Hyeri said, “Right, usually by early 30s…” then added, “But most of my friends haven’t. More haven’t done it than have.”

When the producer mentioned that not many of their friends were married either, Hyeri said, “Nowadays, I think a lot of those expectations have broken down. There used to be plans for life you didn’t even realize you had, but I think a lot of that has fallen apart, and many people live their lives on their own timing.”

The producer then asked, “Did you have a plan?” Having debuted early with Girls’ Day, Hyeri replied, “In college, there’s a time to graduate, a time to prepare for employment, and a period to study for certifications, but I didn’t have those, so I couldn’t make a plan.”

Especially about her imagined version of her 30s, Hyeri confessed, “I thought when I hit my early 30s I’d be like senior actress Chae Jung An in Coffee Prince or senior actress Ryeo Won in My Lovely Sam Soon.”
