Idol-Turned-Actress Announces Pregnancy After Overcoming Miscarriage

A girl group idol-turned-actress is expecting her second child, after overcoming a miscarriage previously.

On August 25th, a lengthy message announcing her pregnancy was posted on Instagram by Hwang Ji Seon (also known as Jisun.)

In the message, Hwang Ji Seon opened up about the pain of having lost a child in the past. She said, “In August 2024, ‘Bbo Bbo,’ who stayed with us for a short time and was so small and precious, left us. Although it was a brief meeting, the time we spent with you remained in our hearts for a long time. After saying goodbye to Bbo Bbo, we spent a whole year waiting to see you again.”

She also shared her overwhelming feelings toward the child who came again after a year of waiting. Hwang Ji Seon wrote, “Just as you, who stayed briefly with us as Bbo Bbo, returned after a year with the name Ddeokkkugi, perhaps you were destined to be part of our family from the very beginning.”

She expressed her affection, “You came to us a little late, taking a bit of a roundabout way, but in the end, you came to us. Ddeokkkugi, do you know how much mom and dad have waited for you? Now, spend the little time you have left resting comfortably in mom’s arms, and let’s meet again healthy. Thank you for coming back to us.”

The photos shared show Hwang Ji Seon, who is nearing childbirth. She is dressed in a white cropped T-shirt and jeans, showing her pronounced baby bump in maternity photos.

In some pictures, her belly is decorated with a red ribbon drawing, and she poses holding a series of ultrasound images.

Another photo attracted attention with a clear ultrasound image showing the distinct facial features of “Ddeokkkugi.”

Hwang Ji Seon, former member of Girl’s Day, married Hoon, former member of the group U-KISS, in May 2022 after eight years of dating. She gave birth to their first son in 2024.
