“Problematic” Actress Shuts Down Claims That She Tried To “Outshine The Bride” In A Sexy Lace Slip Dress

Baby V.O.X member-turned-actress Yoon Eun Hye has personally responded after her outfit at a close friend Arden Cho’s wedding unexpectedly sparked controversy online.

Yoon Eun Hye recently shared photos from Arden Cho’s wedding in Italy, where she was seen posing alongside the bride in a black lace-trimmed slip dress. While many simply praised her visuals, others took issue with how striking the outfit was for a wedding guest. Some commenters argued that its short length and revealing neckline made it too daring, while others questioned whether a guest should wear something attention-grabbing enough to potentially “outshine the bride.”

The criticism eventually led to Yoon Eun Hye being branded a so-called “problematic wedding guest.”  Now, Yoon Eun Hye has addressed the controversy herself. On August 26, the actress shared an Instagram story linking to a post discussing the debate over whether her outfit was excessively attention-grabbing or whether the criticism had simply gone too far. Her explanation was simple:

LOL. You guys!!! There was a set dress code for all three days~

The clarification quickly added another layer to the controversy, as much of the original criticism had centered on whether her outfit was inappropriate for the occasion. Yoon Eun Hye later also shared a faith-based message about not defining people by past hurts or mistakes and choosing to show more love toward others. It is unclear whether the message was directly related to the wedding outfit backlash.

Arden Cho, best known recently as the voice of Rumi in Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, married orthopedic surgeon Christopher Lee at Villa Cora in Florence, Italy, on June 27.
