Lovelyz’s Yoo Jiae Announces Sudden Marriage To K-Drama Actor

Another celebrity couple is officially heading down the aisle! Former Lovelyz member and actress Yoo Jiae and actor Kwak Si Yang have announced that they will be getting married this November, surprising fans as the two had never previously gone public with their relationship.

On September 3, Kwak Si Yang’s agency, 9ato Entertainment, confirmed the news.

Yoo Jiae and Kwak Si Yang will hold their wedding ceremony on November 28.

Yoo Jiae was born in 1993, while Kwak Si Yang was born in 1987, giving the couple a six-year age difference. According to reports, the two have been quietly dating for approximately a year.

Despite their busy schedules, the couple reportedly continued their relationship while being considerate of one another and ultimately decided to spend the rest of their lives together. Their wedding is reportedly scheduled to take place on November 28 at a hotel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with only their families and close acquaintances in attendance.

What has made the announcement particularly surprising is that there had not been a single dating rumor involving the couple before news of their marriage broke. Rather than confirming a relationship and eventually progressing toward marriage publicly, Yoo Jiae and Kwak Si Yang managed to keep their approximately year-long romance almost entirely out of the public eye before announcing that they were already engaged.

Yoo Jiae debuted as a member of Lovelyz in 2014. Following her idol career, she expanded into acting and has continued building her filmography, including an appearance in MBC drama The Third Marriage. Kwak Si Yang also made his acting debut in 2014 through the film Night Flight. He subsequently gained greater recognition through dramas including Oh My Ghost and All Is Well, before establishing a lengthy career across television and film.
