Ahn confessed that she came clean to the director from the get-go about her condition. While facing emotional difficulties, she confessed that she had asked the director to show her affection. “Please adore me. I’m the type of person who performs best when I’m loved,” she recalled telling the director.

The director accepted her request and helped her with her acting by reviewing the script together. My Dearest eventually became her signature work, earning her high praise for her acting.
