Boy Group Idol Arrested After Allegedly Punching Girlfriend

On September 19, it was reported that Inomata Shuto of the J-Pop idol group timelesz was arrested on suspicion of assault. 

The alleged incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on September 18 inside a car parked in a convenience-store parking lot in Tatsumi, Koto Ward, Tokyo. The woman and Inomato were allegedly fighting inside a vehicle when, according to the woman, the assault occurred.

Inomato is accused of repeatedly striking the woman in the face and causing injury to her nose.

According to reports, the woman, then bleeding from her nose, went into the convenience store for help, saying ‘My boyfriend hit me.’ Police were then called to the scene, where Inomata denied the allegation, claiming that his hand accidentally struck the woman during an argument.

At the time of the report, his agency stated that it was verifying the facts, but later confirmed the information. In an official statement, Starto Entertainment shared that Inomata would have his activities suspended and further consequences would be decided as the police investigation continues. The agency also apologized to the victim.

Inomata began his career as an underground idol before being added to timelesz in February 2025.
