For some, this was their second or third chance at a debut.
Earlier this year, JTBC introduced another reality show, this time focusing on the development of nine female idol trainees and their work towards their debut.

Titled Flying Ari, the show featured 100 days of evaluation and training by a team of professional mentors, including BABY V.O.X‘s Yoon Eunhye, aimed at revealing what really happens when planning a girl group’s debut. Several of the trainees were already known to some viewers from previous reality shows or other projects, including Lee Chaeyun, who was active as a child actress and appeared in Girls Planet 999.

However, a new message from Chaeyun has given an unexpected update on the group’s status.
In a message on her TikTok account, Chaeyun revealed that due to “internal circumstances,” the members have now gone their separate ways.
Hello, this is Chaeyun.
I’m writing this message because there’s something I wanted to tell the fans who have loved and waited for us since we first met through JTBC’s Flying Ari.
I previously shared that I was preparing to debut, and I know many of you have been waiting for us, believing we would debut together as a group.
However, due to internal circumstances, the debut lineup we had been preparing for fell through, and all the members have now gone their separate ways.
The group’s disbandment was not caused by any problems between the members. We all have positive feelings toward one another and are supporting each other’s futures. I sincerely hope that no false speculation or rumors arise regarding this situation.
As videos of the members together continued to be uploaded, some of you may have thought that we were still preparing to debut. However, those videos were filmed when we occasionally met up and spent time together because we were close. They were not filmed as part of our debut preparations.
I also feel deeply sorry for the fans who had been looking forward to our debut and waiting for us, only to be disappointed.
It seems that our journey, which began through JTBC’s Flying Ari, has now come to an end.
From now on, I don’t think we’ll be able to meet you as a single group through Flying Ari anymore.
I won’t forget the love and support you gave us as you shared in our dream. I hope you’ll continue to support the members as we each embark on new paths in our own ways.
As for me, Chaeyun, I’m going to try to make a fresh start as well. Just as you’ve waited for and loved me as a member of the group, I hope you’ll continue to watch over me and support me in the future.
Thank you so much for meeting us through Flying Ari and supporting our dream alongside us.
I’ll work hard so that we can greet you again with better news and show you our best selves as we each move forward on our own paths.
Thank you so much for everything.
And please continue to give lots of love to the future Chaeyun, too.
— Chaeyun
Many were left disappointed, calling out JTBC for another failed idol debut project.
I am still mad about Girls on Fire and now JTBC have disappointed nine more young women and their fans…
