Daesung has recently sparked hugely mixed reactions with his comments about fellow member G-Dragon.

During a recent show, Daesung said that he thought that since 2006, G-Dragon had “paved the way” for everything, seemingly referring to his influence on the K-Pop sphere.

🦦: I think GD paved the way for everything!
🦦: Everything since 2006 right??? 🙂‍↕️ I’m sure of that

I suddenly thought about the possibility of Daesung coming across online fanwars of “who paved the way” because to me this is such a fandom statement that I only see on stantwt 😭

But yes Daesungie tell them who paved the way 😌🤍

Yet, it also sparked backlash from some fans, who thought that Daesung’s comments were “embarrassing” and brought BTS into it.

“BLACKPINK paved the way” — Blinks and BLACKPINK themselves.
“G-Dragon/BIGBANG paved the way” — BIGBANG and their fans.
If you really paved the way, you wouldn’t need to keep reminding everyone yourselves. The media, Billboard, and major publications would be saying it for you

i don’t know who this is but industry reports and his peers show bts made kpop famous and a global genre. g-dragon was famous in k-pop, but bts made kpop famous and a global genre, and this person can only act jealous today because bts opened that path. pic.twitter.com/vaH1Q2w0PK

This group was ALWAYS bitter about bts. Dont forget how one of its members’ siblings liked insta post by a director shading bts back in 2017 over some no signal screens when their fans were actively dragging bts for that even though it wasn’t even bts fault.
