Actress Posts Cryptic Update Amid Scandal Surrounding Her Seized Property

Actress Kim Sa Rang has shared a pointed social media update amid reports that a property under her name was seized over alleged unpaid taxes.

On May 15, 2026 (KST), xportsnews reported that an apartment owned by Kim Sa Rang in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, had been seized due to unpaid national taxes. In response to the reports, a representative from Kim Sa Rang’s agency, Leo International, stated that they were still looking into the matter.

Following the news reports, on May 16, Kim Sa Rang uploaded several photos and videos, showing herself enjoying a calm moment with her dog by the Han River at sunset. Alongside the photos, the actress wrote a message that quickly drew attention because of the timing.

OSEN has since reported that Kim Sa Rang had already paid all of the overdue taxes on May 9, before the controversy became public. According to the report, Kim Sa Rang first received notice of the tax delinquency around March and was preparing the payment when the seizure reportedly took place. It was also said that she had not been aware of the apartment seizure at the time.

In South Korea, real estate seized for unpaid national taxes is assessed at the property’s publicly assessed value rather than its actual market price. Once the seizure is registered, it takes effect. If the unpaid amount is not settled, the property may later be sold at public auction. If the amount is paid in full, the seizure can be lifted.
