BLACKPINK member Jennie has landed herself in hot water over the music video of her latest release.

On August 28, KST, Jennie put out a three-track EP, named Fallen Angel, featuring “Fallen Angel,” “Heaven,” and “Less Than A Lover.” While the last track was a pre-release single, the other two were released together on the same day as the EP release, with accompanying music videos.

The music video for “Fallen Angel” has stirred up the pot over its ending scene, which shows a bunch of kids dressed in white, with red veils over their faces, leading the viewer into a burning house. As the door opens, a small girl is sitting beside Jennie in a thicket of thorns, both dressed identically. The camera pans, and there stands Jennie again, surrounded by the same kids, each holding a burning candle.

This specific scene has become the most talked-about part of her music video. While fans found it cinematic, albeit chilling, many netizens are labeling it “Satanic.” The way the children have been depicted in the scene has become a major point of contention.

Dressing children in red and having them hold candles around a flame like this is genuinely creepy and disturbing, especially with the satanic ritual imagery it evokes. She’s weird as hell for this.
