The unexpected backlash started with the first photo from the carousel, in which Jennie was posing while leaning against a mirror wall. Many netizens claimed that her face in the photo appeared very different from the mirror reflection, accusing her of retouching her face.
The picture has now gone viral, with joking that Jennie was “exposed” by her own mirror reflection. However, fans have defended the idol, arguing that the mirror reflection appeared different only because of different angles.
