“Disbanded” Group Announce “Final” Concert Following Member’s Retirement, Confusion Follows

Recently, a boy group seemingly fell apart, leaving only one member.

BAE173 was formed and managed by PocketDol Studio. The group debuted on November 19, 2020, with their first mini-album, Intersection: Spark, and has since released five more mini-albums.

On July 14, it was announced that five members would be leaving the company, leaving just one still there.

It was not made clear if the group was disbanding; however, with Hangyul’s departure from PocketDol, it was assumed that he had left the group. Member Yoojun seemingly stated in his letter to fans that he would be pursuing a “different path,” implying he would retire from idol life.

On July 15, however, a company announced that BAE173 would be holding concerts in Japan this September.

The notice announced that the “BAE173 Fan-Con In Japan” would take place in Osaka and Tokyo on September 5 and 12, respectively.

Ticket sales are set to begin on July 15, local time, and include various perks that can be purchased for interactions with the group’s members.

Many fans have expressed confusion about the announcement, questioning whether the group is disbanded or whether the event will not take place at all.
