Female Idol Confesses To Being Laughed At By Another Girl Group, Shares Painful Memory

2NE1 member Sandara Park recently opened up about the painful experience she endured due to her eccentric styling.

The idol shared the story during her recent appearance on the Donghaemulgwa Baekdueunhyuk YouTube channel. The episode featured many interesting stories from Sandara’s career, including her dramatic “Vegeta” hairstyle, inspired by Dragon Ball.

In the video, Sandara confessed that the Vegeta hairstyle was her “most embarrassing” hairstyle, though it later became one of her most iconic looks.

Sandara recalled that while promoting with that hairstyle, she struggled significantly due to the amount of attention it attracted and how restrictive it was. The idol admitted that she initially felt conscious about how she looked in front of the other “pretty groups” like Girls’ Generation and KARA, who were promoting at the same time.

Everyone knows it now, but back then, when I arrived at Inkigayo, I just couldn’t step out of the car. Because the groups promoting back then…were all like Girls’ Generation,KARA…and then I step out looking like that.

Sandara recalled how most girl group members reacted with shock when they first saw her Vegeta hair. However, one particular girl group’s reaction had stung her when they saw her hair and immediately burst out laughing. “It wasn’t really their fault. I was just so hurt…” Sandara admitted.

Despite the embarrassment, the 2NE1 member went around sporting that hairstyle even outside of work, even while shopping or eating out. When the hosts, Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk and Donghae, asked why she carried that hairstyle even off the clock, Sandara explained that washing out that style took so much time that she just preferred to get her work done before doing it.

Thanks to Sandara pulling through the embarrassment, second-generation K-Pop got one of its most monumental looks of all time!
