He was reported missing before his body was found.
Singer Thaman Taephan (also known by his nickname Tae), a former member of the Thai boy band Dragon 5, was reportedly found dead in the Chao Phraya River under mysterious circumstances.

The 46-year-old singer was reported missing by his family after he left home on the morning of August 6 for a bike ride. He reportedly only took a backpack with me, leaving his wallet, phone, and GPS watch behind. His girlfriend reported him missing after he failed to return home.

The following day, on August 7, Taephan’s body was discovered near the Rama VII Bridge. He was still in the cycling gear that he had left home wearing. His black backpack contained a concrete umbrella base and a hollow brick weighing 20.1 kilograms.
Police have reportedly found no visible external injury on Taephan’s body and estimated the time of death to be more than 12 hours before discovery. The singer’s mother insisted that he had no history of depression and even had plans to be ordained as a Buddhist monk at Wat Sangkathan— his documents already prepared for the procedure.
As per reports, the police are carrying out an autopsy to determine if the concrete was placed in his bag intentionally or was a part of a criminal incident.
