In 2023, SM Entertainment launched a survival show to select the members of the upcoming NCT unit, now known as NCT WISH.

NCT Lastart included two preselected members along with 11 trainees competing for the five remaining spots in the group. After the final members were selected, it was unclear what the remaining trainees would do.
Some have since been made a part of SMTR25, and possibly the upcoming new boy group.

Others left the company, including one believed to be a member of the upcoming boy group, WAYF BOYS.

Anderson, a 20-year-old Filipino-Canadian, left SM Entertainment shortly after the show concluded and opened his own Instagram account.

On this account, he shared now-cleared bits of his life, including his alleged girlfriend, former HYBE trainee and Dream Academy contestant Marquise.

Marquise, who made it to the final episode of Dream Academy, is signed to the Thai entertainment company YUPP! Entertainment. She is currently planning to make her own debut on June 12, PDT, with a livestream.
WAYF BOYS do not currently have a set debut date, but have already begun teasing their debut.
