“Go Die” — Popular Idol’s “Offensive” Comments To Gay People Surface

An idol-actor’s comments have surfaced after a viral video.

Earlier this year, the drama series The Last Oath began airing, telling the story of a young man who discovers he is immune to zombie bites in a post-apocalyptic world and an agent sent to hunt him down.

In a world ravaged by a deadly zombie virus, humanity is caught in a power struggle between two corrupt pharmaceutical giants seeking to take over the world under the guise of vaccine development. College student Lin Zai is hit particularly hard, losing both his parents and his elder brother. Unexpectedly, Lin Zai discovers that he’s immune to zombie bites, making him a valuable asset to those in power. When Lin Zai rescues A Lie, a special agent who’s supposed to be hunting him, an unlikely bond forms that soon becomes more intimate than either of them expected. As they navigate an unforgiving world and conflicting loyalties, Lin Zai and A Lie will have to make impossible choices that push their love to the limit.

The series stars Chen Minghao as Agent A Lie and Chen Liang as Lin Zai.

Chen Liang is likely familiar to several audiences as he competed in the first season of Boys Planet, where he ranked 70th. The following year he appeared in Asia Super Young, where he made it into the winning group and debuted as a member of LOONG9 under the name Felix.

In response to a recent viral video, some comments made by Liang have resurfaced.

The video contains clips from moments with the idol-actor from years ago, showing him being asked about his sexuality. In the first clip, he responds to a question about his sexuality, but then tells gay to “bypass” as it was not their territory. Another clip shows him responding to a comment that asked if he liked boys with “Go die.”

Many have criticized the idol, viewing his comments as offensive or homophobic.

Some have defended the idol, saying that context was missing and that because of the videos’ ages, Liang’s thoughts may have changed.

Learn the context before you starting saying chen liang is homophobic. I’ve seen several of his old livestreams about him claiming manly, straight and all, and havent seen cfans saying his homophobic because of it.

replies said it was from 6 years ago. it’s still off for me but it’s not like i also didn’t went through a phase of an internalized homophobia in hopes of suppressing my queerness back then

— rie 💫 (@shenmogs) October 14, 2026

this way years ago
he lives in homophobic China and was 21 at that time

i was kinda homophobic and “straight” until 20

a lot of things can change in that time so let’s believe he’s not that person anymore
