Japanese Actress’s “Korean-Style” Makeup Transformation Sparks Divided Reactions

Japanese actress Rio Uchida is gaining attention among Korean netizens for her dramatically different makeup transformation.

A viral post on the Korean online community theqoo shared photos of Uchida with a “Korean-style” makeup look alongside photos of her usual styling. The comparison quickly highlighted how much the actress’s image changed with different makeup styles.

Some netizens were shocked by the transformation, with one commenter saying they did not recognize her at first. Many commenters preferred the Korean-style look, saying it made Uchida appear softer and more naturally beautiful.

Others, however, felt that while the Korean-style makeup was beautiful, Uchida’s usual Japanese styling made her stand out more as a celebrity.
