KATSEYE Directly Address Manon’s Return To The Group

In a new interview, KATSEYE’s Lara surprised fans by responding to speculation over whether Manon will return to the group.

Amidst their recent European tour leg, the four members performing on KATSEYE’s THE WILDWORLD TOUR sat down with Swedish show Lilla Aktuellt for an interview — and the host didn’t shy away from tricky questions. Most notably, Lilla Aktuellt questioned Lara, Daniela, Megan, and Yoonchae about the rampant rumors surrounding Manon and Sophia.

A lot of the rumors are about Sophia and Manon and if they will ever come back… What do you have to say to people seeing these rumors? Are they true?

Lara answered without hesitating, immediately stating that the rumors in question are not true.

I can say none of those rumors are true for sure. I think people want to create a negative narrative so badly… But at the end of the day, we don’t feed into it, because it’s just not true.

Manon has been on hiatus since February 2026, with HYBE x Geffen citing her personal health and wellbeing as the reason. Sophia, meanwhile, followed in August this year, stepping back from THE WILDWORLD TOUR for her own mental health. While Sophia’s hiatus has been taken as far more straightforward by fans, the internet has been rife with speculation over whether Manon will ever return to the group for months.

As such, many fans were shocked at Lara’s direct statement on the rumors, with many reading her response as a sign that Manon’s comeback isn’t off the table.

In a recent interview, Lara confirmed that the many rumors (even ones claiming Manon and Sophia will never return to KATSEYE) are completely untrue. She also clarified that the conflicts people continue to associate with them have been made up and are not based on reality…

Others, however, weren’t so convinced, accusing Lara of avoiding a straight answer. The KATSEYE star went on to say, “It’s not our place to speak about their return or anything about that, but we love them, always.”

This isn’t the first time the group’s members have been slammed for how they have addressed Manon’s hiatus. During the interview with Lilla Aktuellt, Lara went on to explain why she thinks the theories keep spreading.

I think it’s easier when there’s somebody to blame and when there’s a made-up conflict. We understand why, I guess, people would make up rumors about us and our relationship.
