KATSEYE Members Finally Speak Up About Manon, Invite Fury

KATSEYE members have broken their silence regarding Manon, only to attract major criticism.

Ahead of their Coachella performance, the girl group sat down with Zane Lowe for an interview, where they brought up Manon. The conversation started with Sophia talking about how they have been working hard to deliver a great performance at Coachella. Eventually, she talked about Manon’s hiatus, saying, “We all just want each other to win, be okay, and feel good.”

Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much! We know she’s doing well, and she got to talk to the fans about it. We’re just really excited and rooting for all of us and each other. You know, we’ve gotten through so much together, so at the end of the day, we all just want each other to win, be okay, and feel good.

Lara also chimed in, reminding listeners that Manon was their “sister forever,” expressing support.

I also want to say that she’s our sister forever, and we love her so much! We built this together, so we want to give her all the space, whatever she needs.

This marks the first time the members have directly talked about Manon since her hiatus was announced abruptly a month ago. However, fans are far from being relieved.

In fact, many criticized the KATSEYE members for this “PR-like” answer, while some even accused them of forcing a “sisterhood” narrative after prolonged silence, only because there is a new song to promote.

Many also took issue with Lara saying that Manon needed “space,” arguing that it diluted the situation and put the blame on Manon.

This is in no way hate to any of the girls but here is what I think:

– They were quiet for two months
– When I listen to this it sounds rehearsed (the mention of “space” and “showing up” doesn’t sit right with me)
