Leukemia Survivor Cha Hyun Seung’s Reunion With Sunmi Draws Attention

Dancer-turned-actor Cha Hyun Seung delighted fans by taking the stage at Waterbomb in a healthy condition after curing leukemia.

On July 26th, Sunmi performed on the outdoor Global Stage at KINTEX for Waterbomb Seoul 2026, showcasing various performances including her new song “Forever July.”

The highlight of the day was the appearance of Cha Hyun Seung, who has worked closely with Sunmi for a long time. Cha Hyun Seung performed a duet with Sunmi, displaying their distinctive strong chemistry. Their perfect harmony energized the atmosphere at the venue.

Waterbomb’s official social media account posted immediately after the show, saying, “This is it! Reunited! Waterbomb Sunmi X Cha Hyun Seung stage,” along with a video of their performance, which received a warm response.

Cha Hyun Seung revealed last year that he had been battling leukemia and announced his full recovery in December, receiving much support. At the time, he expressed gratitude, saying, “The seemingly endless battle has finally come to an end.”

Since then, he has publicly shared a healthy lifestyle, including taking up boxing and continuing his acting career. At this Waterbomb performance, he showed off a fit body and energetic performance, conveying his recovery and regained health.
