In response, several outlets speculated that Nana may have had lip filler dissolved after the controversy broke out. Earlier this month, she faced scrutiny for her role in Netflix’s period K-Drama The Scandal. A clip of Nana’s scenes circulating on TikTok drew claims that her lips looked “too modern” for the setting, with some commenters referring to her visuals as “iPhone face.”

Days later, Nana addressed the criticism directly with an apology that implied she had indeed chosen to have a lip filler procedure. Sharing a message on the fan-artist chat platform Bubble, the idol-turned-actress stated, “If my lips made people uncomfortable, then that was my fault. I think the personal choice I made was not an appropriate one for me as an actor.”

The departure marked Nana’s first public appearance since her apology, and her lips weren’t the only thing picked apart during her airport appearance. Reporting on her looks, TenAsia described Nana’s “unconventional” choppy bob hairstyle as looking like it had been “gnawed by a mouse.”
