The idol opened up about the terrifying experience during a recent episode of MBN and SBS Plus’s I Met a Psychopath, a show that features real-life crimes occurring in and around people’s homes.

During the broadcast, Young Ji disclosed that she had been consistently stalked by the same person for seven years, starting from 2016. The stalker had left her and her family completely traumatized by persistently targeting them with their creepy behavior, such as following the idol and repeatedly visiting the cafe run by her family. Initially, Young Ji’s parents appreciated the support, thinking they were a normal fan. However, the stalker interpreted it as an acknowledgment of a “special” relationship between them and the idol.

As disturbing as their actions were, the individual didn’t just stop at following the idol. They also tracked down sensitive personal information of Young Ji’s family members, including their license plate numbers. They also somehow managed to get their hands on the contact numbers of her relatives. “They harassed my older sister and even contacted my parents,” she recalled.

The situation turned even more alarming when, after being called out by other fans, the individual sent Young Ji a letter stating, “I want to kill everyone who is jealous of the relationship between us.”

Young Ji’s account left the rest of the cast members, including Jun Hyun Moo, Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, and rapper Nucksal, completely horrified.

The idol mentioned that she had consulted a lawyer in 2020, but it was difficult to pursue legal punishment since no bodily harm had been inflicted and the anti-stalking laws had not been enacted at that time.
