As time has passed, the emphasis on selling physical albums has only increased for those in the K-Pop industry. Fans love collecting (a reasonable number of) versions of their favorite releases, while a measure of a group’s success is the total number of albums sold.

Many singers have achieved massive heights with album sales; several have hit the one-million seller mark and above.

However, one K-Pop idol personally reacted to low first-day album sales, earning attention. In 2016, the boy group IMFACT debuted under Star Empire Entertainment.

They remained active as a group until Jeup began his military service in 2020, with members then making solo debuts. In 2022, IMFACT were announced to have not renewed their contracts with Star Empire, though the group stated that they were not disbanding. They have since been inactive as the members focused on other pursuits.

While the digital version was released on March 22, March 27 marked the first day of sales of the physical version of the album, and according to the Hanteo Chart, the singer’s album only sold nine copies its first day of sales.

This information was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a fan account dedicated to sharing official album stats. Surprisingly, the artist responded to this tweet with a bit of surprise, thanked fans for buying his album, and said he was “not ashamed” of the results so far.

He replied again, saying he would be proud regardless of the sales. He also retweeted the post, sharing the caption, “It doesn’t matter. We’re gonna be fine anyway.

Many have praised the star for his positive attitude, including the chart account, who broke character to praise the release.

HELLO GLOOM and label co-founder from20 (former BIGSTAR member Raehwan) are still going strong, with from20 scheduled to release his 2nd full album in just a few weeks.
