However, this explanation has sparked online speculation about the “real” reason for their breakup.
In a poll titled “Why Did Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung And Jung Kyung Ho Break Up?” voters shared their opinions about the breakup. Only 4% of voters believe the official statement, selecting “I believe the official statement; they drifted apart because of their schedules.” Another 4% of voters think “something else” happened.
7% of voters chose “I think they realized they just weren’t right for each other,” while 8% picked, “I don’t know what to believe right now.”
17% of voters think “something upsetting and heavy happened that caused an irreparable rift between them.”
But the top two choices were about marriage. 27% of voters think “Sooyoung wanted to get married and Jung Kyung Ho didn’t,” while 34% chose “I think Jung Kyung Ho wanted to get married and Sooyoung didn’t.”
