Top Girl Group Forced Into Extreme Actions To Lose Weight Within Days By Manager

Amid all the praise RESCENE’s agency is receiving for the girl group’s sudden rise to fame, the members recently revealed the grueling treatment they once faced as trainees.

Appearing as the first idol guests on Brewmaster Yun’s YouTube channel, Liv, Zena, and Minami revealed their strict trainee dieting experiences, including a time they were asked to shed several kilos in just a few weeks. The girl group stars explained that they had already been trying to lose weight ahead of the shoot, but when they failed to meet the expected numbers, the company resorted to drastic measures.

A member of staff who was in charge of their visuals at the time gathered them together and ordered them to lose 3 kg within just two weeks.

“They wouldn’t even let 0.1 kg slide,” the members recalled as they divulged just how far they went to meet the target — alongside dieting, Liv even cut her hair and trimmed her nails, while Minami took out her contact lenses and stopped wearing makeup to reduce the number on the scale as much as possible. They went on to reveal that they wore “the thinnest clothes possible” when it was time to weigh themselves, even deciding not to wear socks.

Even with these extreme measures, however, fellow member May still ended up 0.2 kg short of her target weight by the deadline. “She was given one last chance to lose it by a certain time,” explained Liv, “so she stayed alone in the practice room to jump rope.”

That’s when the agency’s CEO himself stepped in to jump rope alongside May until she reached her target. Eventually, on her final weigh-in, May managed to lose the additional remaining 0.2 kg. “Only then were we able to enjoy a meal together,” shared the members.

While there’s no doubt the experience was tough and demanding, the RESCENE members surprisingly looked back on the memory fondly with laughter, stating that it only brought them closer together as a group.

We all dieted together, and when we secretly ate, we all ate together, and when we got caught, we all got caught together. We couldn’t help but become close. That’s when we became even more tightly bonded.
