He injured a cast member.
Transit Love 4 contestant Shin Seung Yong has come under heavy criticism after his actions during the latest episode of Blood Game X, prompting the reality star to issue a lengthy public apology.
The controversy stems from Episode 5 of the Wavve survival show, which aired on July 24. During the episode’s “Raid Day” mission, the P3 and P1 alliance competed against the R and C teams in an effort to protect the remaining balance inside a vault.
While the rules allowed for a certain level of physical force, Shin Seung Yong drew backlash after viewers felt he used excessive force while subduing Lee Sang Min, Park Ji Min, and Seo Chul Gu.
The confrontation resulted in Seo Chul Gu suffering an injury to his hand.

Following the episode, many viewers argued that, even within the rules of the game, Shin’s actions crossed the line. On July 25, Shin addressed the controversy in a lengthy blog post. He admitted that he had expected criticism even before the episode aired.
“I already knew I would receive criticism before the ‘Raid Day’ episode aired, but after watching it myself, I realized I really didn’t look good.”
He revealed that immediately after watching the broadcast, he personally called Lee Sang Min, Park Ji Min, and Seo Chulgu to apologize once again. According to Shin, he had already apologized multiple times during filming and again through direct messages after production wrapped, but still felt it wasn’t enough. Regarding the physical altercation, Shin acknowledged that no explanation could justify his actions.

“No explanation or excuse can justify the violent parts of my behavior. I sincerely apologize, regret what I did, and am reflecting on it.”
Shin explained that he became overwhelmed during the mission because he felt pressured by the time limit and believed he had to protect the items at all costs. He also said he did not realize a cord was wrapped around Seo Chul Gu’s hand and therefore did not anticipate the injury would be that serious.
While stressing that this was not an excuse, he promised to take responsibility for the incident and said he would ensure Seo Chul Gu received proper treatment. The reality star also apologized to viewers who felt uncomfortable watching the episode, saying he regretted causing stress to those who simply wanted to enjoy the show.
Meanwhile, Shin Seung Yong recently confirmed that he is dating fellow Transit Love 4 cast member Kwak Min Kyung. The couple revealed that they became romantically involved after filming concluded but before the program aired. Their relationship has attracted attention due to their nine-year age gap, with Kwak Min Kyung born in 2001 and Shin Seung Yong born in 1992, making them the youngest and oldest contestants from the season to become a real-life couple.
