“So sisters, take note.”
Hundreds of women may have signed up for pottery, but according to one hilariously disappointed attendee, clay was not the only thing they were hoping to see. Korean pottery content creator Lee Kyeong Hwan has gone viral after an unexpected review of a class associated with him exposed a major “plot twist.”

Known online for both his pottery skills and exceptionally handsome visuals, Lee recently attracted attention when enrollment opened for a pottery class priced at ₩100,000 KRW (about $66.70 USD). Demand was reportedly so intense that the waitlist grew to around 400 people.
Does anyone want to make a vase? 🙋🏻♂️ I think the act of creating something is wonderful. You can use what you make in your daily life or give it as a gift to someone. But I think the best part is the quiet sense of immersion you experience while making it. We are now accepting first-come, first-served registration for our regular October classes. September classes are fully booked, but applications for the one-day classes are still open.

At first glance, the enormous response seemed a victory for the growing popularity of pottery as a hobby. However, a review shared online suggested that at least some attendees may have had a very different motivation for booking. According to the post, the writer’s friend made a reservation after hearing about the handsome pottery creator. When she arrived, she allegedly found several women dressed up and wearing full makeup, seemingly just as excited to meet him.

The Unexpected Twist Involving A Handsome Pottery Influencer: He is a handsome influencer known for making pottery, and a post went up recruiting students for a pottery class that costs ₩100,000 KRW (about $66.70 USD). The class exploded in popularity, with around 400 people making reservations. But someone who actually attended shared a review with a major twist. The women showed up in full makeup, only to find out that the handsome influencer does not teach the classes. In other words, all 400 of them had been baited! 🤣 She did say the class itself was fun, though… Isn’t this basically a scam?

Unfortunately, they were all in for a devastating surprise: Lee Kyeong Hwan was reportedly not there.
Instead, another instructor conducted the lesson. The attendee later asked about Lee, only to be told that he apparently does not teach any of the regular classes. The friend returned bitterly disappointed, reportedly declaring that she had been completely “baited.” The original poster issued a playful warning to anyone considering making a reservation solely to see Lee.

You know that super handsome guy who went viral on Threads for making pottery? Apparently, he also runs a pottery studio! There are supposedly 400 people on the waiting list to book a class. My friend made a reservation because she wanted to see him in person. When she got there, she said the place was packed with women who had shown up in full makeup. 🤣 But the problem was that the handsome instructor wasn’t there. A different instructor was teaching the class, so she came back incredibly disappointed. She said ₩100,000 KRW (about $66.70 USD) had gone down the drain LOL. What makes it even funnier is that she asked about him and found out that he doesn’t teach any of the classes at all!!! She said she had been baited… So, sisters who are thinking about booking a class just to see that man, take note!!! That instructor is just bait!!!! 🐟🐡🐠🎣

The story quickly went viral, with the related post surpassing 3.5 million views as netizens laughed over the apparent mass catfishing. While some joked that the situation counted as a “scam,” there is no suggestion that Lee or the studio actually promised to teach the class. The attendees appear to have simply assumed the handsome man featured in the pottery content would also be waiting for them at the wheel.
Fortunately, the disappointed friend reportedly admitted that the class itself was still fun!
