Unlike their previous bright and energetic summer hits, it presents a more matured charm. Added to this is Red Velvet’s signature cool yet dreamy vocal harmony, and lyrics solely written by Joy, which deepen the summer vibe.

The album, themed around “summer,” features a total of five songs spanning various genres and moods, including bossa nova, reggae, dance, classical, and acoustic, showcasing Red Velvet’s expanded musical spectrum.

Additionally, Joy, who has been steadily honing her songwriting skills through solo tracks, wrote the lyrics alone for the title track “Surfin’ Boy” and the track “Hawaii,” adding authenticity to the messages. KENZIE, who produced Red Velvet’s hits like “Red Flavor,” “Peek-A-Boo,” and “Psycho,” participated in writing and composing “Hot Girls Cold Vibe,” enhancing the album’s quality.

Moreover, long-time collaborators producer Hwang Hyun and lyricist Jo Yoon Kyung worked on “Orchestra” and “Hula Hoop,” respectively, promising yet another extraordinary synergy.

Full Group Chemistry

In addition, ahead of the album’s release, Red Velvet will meet fans first through the 2026 Red Velvet FAN-CON at Korean University Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul over three days starting until August 2.

Since this is their first full group concert in a long time, the originally scheduled two shows sold out quickly, prompting an added show that also sold out completely. The stage for the title track “Surfin’ Boy” is unveiled for the first time.
