WINNER‘s Mino has been sentenced to two years of probation, with one year in prison should he violate probation, for violating the Military Service Act.
On October 1, Judge Seong Jun Kyu of the Seoul Western District Court delivered his ruling on Mino’s case. Mino was charged with violating the Military Service Act after it was discovered he was absent from his military service for 102 days without authorization. Mino was sentenced to two years of probation, with one year in prison should he violate probation.
Prior to entering the courthouse for his sentencing, Mino briefly spoke to reporters and apologized for his actions.
I am full of regret and remorse. I am also sorry to my fans.
I offer my deepest apologies to everyone here. I have depression and panic disorder, but I know fully well that these conditions should not serve as an excuse or justification for what I did.
I hope to recover my health as soon as possible and, if given the opportunity to complete my service, to complete it faithfully. The responsibility for not showing up to work is mine alone.
