YouTube Star Reveals The Unexpected Place He Gets Botox Treatment

YouTube content creator Park We opened up about an unexpected medical treatment he receives for his bladder, explaining the health reasons behind the procedure.

On the June 23 broadcast of SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny, Park We and his wife, girl group SECRET member Song Jieun, appeared together and visited his bladder specialist.

The visit came after Song Jieun expressed concern over Park We not sweating. Park We explained, “Normally, people regulate their body temperature through sweat, but since I don’t sweat, my body holds onto heat.”

With the weather getting warmer and Park We preparing for a marathon, his condition became a point of concern. His doctor warned that using air conditioning or ice to lower his temperature could cause his body temperature to drop too suddenly, adding that he would need to carefully pace himself throughout the race.

The doctor also emphasized the importance of hydration before and after the marathon, to which Park We expressed his concerns.

Doctor: You need to drink a lot of water before and after the marathon. Even if you’re not thirsty, you have to keep drinking water. Drink at least 2 liters. If you drink only when you feel thirsty, it’s already too late.

Park We: I know drinking water is good for bladder management, but when I drink a lot of water, I have to go to the bathroom. So not drinking water became a habit because I was worried about causing inconvenience.

Park We was then shown receiving the bladder Botox procedure. He also revealed that he had been named a “Healthy Bladder Ambassador,” making the moment both informative while humorous. While discussing the procedure, Song Jieun asked the question many viewers may have been wondering: why does he get Botox in his bladder?

The doctor explained, “It is a Botox injection procedure inside the bladder. Some people have sensitive bladders, and this treatment reduces bladder sensitivity. Bladder medication has to be taken long-term and can have side effects, so this is one way to reduce the amount of medication needed.”

The episode later showed Park We taking on the 7K wheelchair marathon with Song Jieun cheering him on. Despite the difficult moments, he pushed through to the finish line and successfully completed the race. The achievement was made even more meaningful as he also reached his goal of raising ₩100 million KRW (about $65,300 USD) in donations through the marathon. Afterward, Park We and Song Jieun celebrated the emotional finish together, drawing applause from the studio panel.

Park We and Song Jieun married in October of last year. Park We was diagnosed with full-body paralysis after an accidental fall in 2014, but through rehabilitation, he regained movement in his upper body. He is currently active as the creator behind the YouTube channel WERACLE and continues to give lectures and raise awareness about disability.
