It’s the end of an era.
After more than a decade of performing for fans, a veteran girl group is preparing to take their final bow.

ukka (formerly Sakura Ebis) is a Japanese girl idol group, formed by Stardust Promotion in August 2015. It was originally created as a “little sister” group of Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, an idol group formed in 2009.

Many idol groups disband within a few years, but some, like ukka withstand the test of time. Even so, all good things must eventually come to an end. Last December, ukka announced on their official website that they would be disbanding after their solo concert at Kanadevia Hall (formerly TOKYO DOME CITY HALL) in Tokyo, Japan.

After extensive discussions about the company’s direction and future possibilities for the group’s activities, the members decided it was time for their journey as a group to end. Only two original members (Murahoshi Riju and Akane Sora) have been with ukka since the beginning. The remaining five members joined between 2016 and 2023.

Now, after a decade of concerts, album releases, and various concepts, ukka’s disbandment is fast approaching. They will disband after their final show on May 24, 2026, just two months before their 11th anniversary.
