A Korean YouTuber, who was involved in a controversy over assaulting his ex-girlfriend, has resumed his YouTube activities after a break of about six months.
On October 5th, Woong Ei posted a mukbang video on his YouTube channel visiting a dumpling restaurant in Pyeongtaek.
He said, “I took about a six-month break from YouTube,” adding, “At some point, my health deteriorated, and I became afraid of meeting people. Every time I went out, my body tensed up, so I had a really hard time for a while. I needed time for treatment.”
He also indicated that he intends to continue making mukbang content going forward.
Previously, Woong Ei was prosecuted for unlawfully entering his ex-girlfriend’s house and assaulting her, receiving a sentence of 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, at both the first and second trials.
In a live broadcast, he acknowledged the court ruling and said regarding the trespassing charge, “I clearly think I was wrong.” However, he claimed that some of the reports about the assault and the circumstances of the incident were not accurate.
