May she rest in peace.
Mukbang is a type of video that features a person eating large quantities of food in front of the camera. While it is considered entertaining to viewers, it can have serious consequences for the content creators themselves.
A popular star recently shared her own warning before tragically passing away.

According to Chinese media, a Chinese mukbang creator, Chen Ziyi, known online as Ganfan Yingying, passed away on August 17. Chen, 24, gained a following of over 1 million by posting eating content online and live-streaming.
Chen’s parents posted news of her passing in September, sharing an obituary on her account.

Just days before her passing, Chen shared a video on her account, where she revealed that she had just been in the hospital for low potassium. Chen reportedly shared that she vomits after eating at times, and purging severely depletes potassium.
Potassium depletion can lead to heart issues and cause cardiac arrest.

In the video, she also spoke about how hard Mukbangs were on her body and warned that while making money is important, health should always come first.
She is not the Mukbang star to die from complications related to her streaming.
