When groups come to the end of their contracts, they can choose to leave their agencies, and possibly their groups, for a variety of reasons. Some continue to have activities even while under different labels, or after being disbanded.

Boy Group Returns With All Members And Original Name After Being Disbanded By Company

In 2012, TS Entertainment debuted a boy group with the concept of being aliens from another planet. B.A.P quickly stood out for their strong concepts and unique visuals, including all members being blonde.

The group achieved significant popularity and were able to embark on many different tours around the world and were the first K-pop artist to achieve several milestones, including MTV’s something something.

However, behind-the-scenes issues between TS Entertainment and B.A.P ultimately led to the group suspending their contracts with the agency due to unpaid fees. Other issues cited by both the group and fans included the group’s treatment and risks to their physical health.

This led to a nearly year long hiatus before matters were settled between the company and the group allowing them to return with a new release. As contracts expired, the members began leaving the company with it ultimately, appearing as though the group had silently disbanded.

The members have since pursued solo activities and completed their military services as fans held on hope that they would reunite. This was fulfilled when they reunited years later under a different name, though only four of the group’s members were present.

With the youngest member, Zelo, having completed his military service, it appears the group somewhat reunited recently.

On June 21, a photo of the five members of the group in a recording studio was shared by member Daehyun, showing the five inside of a studio.

In a video discussing his upcoming album, Daehyun shared that the song is about the his gratefulness to fans and that Yongguk had the idea to include all of the members. The song, titled “Name,” will include the members singing the group parts all together.

Though this is not the full comeback some fans are hoping for, it has been met with excitement and hope.
