Rising Actress Gives Fans The “Ick” With Creepy Dating Habit

Actress Kim Min Ha has unsettled some netizens after revealing the unusually intimate way she preserves memories from her past relationships.

The actress appeared alongside actress Kim Joo Ryoung on the July 10 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s Park Ha Sun’s CineTown to promote their new movie, Hana Korea. During the show, Kim Min Ha shared that one of her hobbies is recording the ordinary sounds of everyday life, such as herself reading at home or walking outside.

What “icked” her fans, though, is that her habit has also extended to her romantic relationships. Kim Min Ha explained that, in the past, while dating, she sometimes recorded herself and her partner walking together while holding hands. She said that listening back to the audio makes the images and memories from those moments feel especially vivid.

She then admitted that she does not delete the recordings even after the relationship ends.

While Kim Min Ha appeared to view the audio as a sentimental record of a specific moment in her life, several netizens found the confession uncomfortable, particularly because the recordings involved former partners who may not have known they were being recorded. One commenter said imagining themselves as the former partner gave them chills, while another argued that deleting the files would be the respectful thing to do after a breakup.

Kim Min Ha also revealed that she regularly records moments with her grandmother. She said she leaves the recorder running when she visits her home and especially enjoys capturing the sound of the two of them eating together. According to the actress, even listening to those recordings just one day later makes the moment feel deeply sentimental.
